::: Brief History  

       WELBILT is a part of Somerville Group which was founded in Hong Kong in 1958, since then Somerville Companies have been active in the Food Service Equipment field in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and China. Manufacturing plants are located in Thailand, China and Malaysia. In 1998 WELBILT was set up as the manufacturing part of Somerville Group. The factory was set up in Prachinburi under the Board of Investment (BOI) promotion. WELBILT employs over 250 people. On 10 January 2004, Welbilt inaugurated the second manufacturing building, which houses the new Coldroom Paneling Machine. New Ice Maker Line and expand the existing Refrigeration and Fabrication sections to cope with the constantly expanding demand of business.
::: BOI Investment Privilege  

       WELBILT is a 50%-50% joint venture between Somerville (Siam) Limited, a Thai company and Enodis, a US corporation. The Prachinburi plant was constructed with an investment of 6 million US Dollar, of which 3 million US Dollar was foreign investment. The factory was setup in BOI zone 3. From these qualifications, we applied for and received approval for the Board of Investment Promotion Privilege. Our BOI approval reference number is 5319/2545 (2-7005/O./2542).

     The Somerville Group is the marketing arm of WELBILT. Approximately 90% of WELBILT products are sold through Somerville Companies which cover Southeast Asia, Australia, India, Bangladesh and now is expanding to pacific islands and middle east countries.
